Castlestone pavers are carefully engineered to exacting standards at our Wangara factory, using the highest grade Western Australian limestone. Castlestone pavers Perth come in 400mm x 400mm sizes and in two depths. The 40mm paver is suitable for pedestrian use and the Castlestone 60mm driveway paver is appropriate for driving and parking on.
Laying patterns are an important factor to consider as you plan your project or in discussions with your installer. They are all aesthetically pleasing, though some more suited to the shape and size of a space or style of your home, so keep these mind in selecting the laying approach. The three main ways Castlestone square large format pavers are laid are:
- stretcher or brick bond
- diamond
- random pattern
Standard 400×400 pavers are used in stretcher bond and diamond designs and often feature a border or header course of full pavers around the outside. Random pattern is made up of 400×400 pavers, 400×200 standard half paver borders (see section below) and then these are cut in half to make a 200×200 third smaller size.

Patterns
Our paving is offered in three patterns/textures: Beach, Reef and Slate. All the eight colours in our range are available in the three Castlestone patterns:
- Slate combines well with traditional home styles
- Beach is ever popular for poolside/wet areas due to its great traction underfoot
- Reef suits situations where a smoother look is desired
Borders
Borders are used to frame and define areas, break up similar coloured areas and create a focus or point of interest. All borders can be made in any of Castlestone’s 8 colours. Recently we’ve noticed a trend towards using an Inca or Pebble border in the same colour as the paving, providing a more subdued contrast.
Some tried and tested border and paving combinations that have been successful are Sandstone with Mocha, Charcoal with all the light coloured pavers and Silver Grey with Charcoal. A striking idea is to reverse your paving and border colours between the driveway and alfresco area. For instance a Charcoal Driveway with Sunny Yellow borders and an alfresco and pool area with Sunny Yellow paving and Charcoal borders.
